The city is approximately 31 miles squared, with an estimated population of 110,000. The City of Miramar is bordered by Pembroke Pines and Hollywood to the north, Hallandale Beach to the East, Miami-Dade county to the south, and the Florida everglades to the west. The city was incorporated on May 26, 1955.
